In two decades at Burges & Burges, Vanessa built a reputation for creating strategies to achieve the most challenging goals and win the most difficult issues. Vanessa worked her way up through the company, starting as a research associate.

This hands-on experience means Vanessa has an in-depth knowledge of each role and works to coordinate a seamless delivery of service to clients and partners. Vanessa’s accomplishments at Burges & Burges include:

• Creation of facility plans and the passage of hundreds of bond issues that provided all new schools for dozens of districts in Ohio

• Working with various schools, libraries, and transit systems to create actionable strategic plans rooted in community input

• Providing counsel to community colleges on enrollment, funding, retention plans

• Working with hospital systems on local funding, land use and communications

• Leading campaigns that elect qualified judges across the state - including a member of the Ohio Supreme Court

Vanessa uses her in-depth experience in designing and completing research to help shape communications, campaigns, and ballot requests throughout Ohio. As a featured presenter for Ohio School Board Association and Buckeye Association of School Administrators, she has helped countless smaller school districts customize strategies to fit their unique communities. Vanessa is also a trustee for the Alliance for the Great Lakes’ board of directors.

A lifelong resident of Lake County in Northeast Ohio, Vanessa is a graduate of Cleveland State University with both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in business administration along with a Certificate in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University.
