JILL BILLMAN-ROYER
SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT & PARTNER
Jill joined Burges & Burges Strategists as a consultant in 2010 – after first being a client. She hired and worked closely with the firm during her local school district’s challenging operating levy campaign. Now, as senior vice president and a partner, she carries this unique perspective and experience into all her client work.
Jill also brings a wealth of valuable knowledge to clients who are looking to expand or enhance media relations and improve efforts to communicate positively and proactively with the public amid challenging circumstances. Before joining Burges & Burges, she worked for an international IT company and spent a decade as a newspaper reporter and editor in Central Ohio – where her work was recognized by the National Federation of Press Women. Her leadership skills, attention to detail, and campaign management experience make her a valuable asset in client work that includes:
Leading extensive, strategic communications and community relations programs for clients throughout Ohio.
Developing effective, research-based messaging for clients and helping them deliver it to key stakeholders and audiences in a variety of formats.
Leading ballot-issue campaigns that inspire communities to fund operations, new facilities, and technology for school districts, municipalities, counties, colleges, parks, library systems, and health and human services organizations throughout Ohio.
Coordinating strategic targeting and communications work to maximize client resources.
A lifelong resident of Franklin County, Jill volunteers her time with various local school and community organizations. She spent seven years as a Trustee for the Southwest Public Libraries and the Ohio Public Library Information Network (OPLIN) and currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the South-Western City Schools Educational Foundation. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a bachelor’s degree in English with an emphasis in professional and creative writing.
